How Chiropractic Care Helps After a Car Accident
Why prompt evaluation matters, even when symptoms haven't shown up yet.
Car accidents put sudden force through your body, even at low speeds, and the injuries that result don't always show up right away. Whiplash in particular can take a day or two to fully present, which is exactly why waiting to see if it “gets better on its own” is risky.
An evaluation soon after an accident does two things. First, it identifies what's actually been affected, whether that's soft tissue, spinal alignment, or both. Second, it creates documentation of the injury and treatment close to the date of the accident, which matters if insurance or a claim is involved later.
From there, treatment is individualized based on what the evaluation shows, not a generic “whiplash protocol.” The goal is restoring proper alignment and function, not just masking discomfort until it fades.
If you've been in an accident, even a minor one, getting checked promptly is the more cautious move.
